1: Manchester Christmas Market

Manchester’s award-winning Christmas Market is one of the largest in the UK. This year see the market spread over 9 sites containing more than 300 beautifully festive stalls and chalets.

You be able to follow the market trail as it winds through the city centre and find everything from gifts, crafts, jewellery, clothes and toys. 3: Worcester Victorian Christmas Fayre

This year Worcester celebrate 25 years of holding their Victorian-themed street market.  The market is unique and totally different than any other!

You’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time as you wander amongst the 200 stalls in the atmospheric streets of Worcester’s historical city centre. The market offers everything from sparkling jewellery to festive home decorations, as well as tasty treats including mulled wine and roasted chestnuts.

As you walk around the market you will find the stall-owners dress up in Victorian clothes, along with choir performances, dances – jugglers and stilt walkers! You also have the opportunity to take a ride on the Victorian carousel whilst listening to the sounds of tradition barrel organ music.

The Christmas Market runs from the 30th November to the 3rd December.

5: Ludlow Medieval Weekend Christmas Fayre

This quirky medieval fair makes for a Christmas market experience that’s not to be missed!

Located in the grounds of Ludlow Castle, the fair has over 100 stalls selling original and unusual gifts you won’t find on the traditional high street, along with historical goods, and not forgetting, festive food and drink.

There’s a lot of activities to do on both days of the fayre throughout the castle for the family including archery, puppetry and even swordplay, so it’s an excellent opportunity for history lovers young and old!

The Christmas Market runs from the 25th November until the 26th November.

7: Gloucester Quays Victorian Christmas Market

You will travel back in time by visiting this authentic Victorian market where you’re likely to spot plenty of characters from a Dickensian era including ‘Wonder Tonic’ salesmen, Oliver Twist-like urchins, posh Victorian ladies and gentlemen and even a couple of playful thieves and pickpockets, all watched over by Victorian policemen.

You find the market stalls selling every type of gifts, food and confectionary, a traditional Ferris Wheel, real ale tavern and roast chestnuts carts, with a street entertainer’s,

Late years market attracted over 250,000 shoppers and over 30,000 skaters making it one of the most popular markets to visit as a family.

The Christmas Market runs from the 27th November until the 24th December and the Open-Air Ice Rink from the 16th November until 2nd January 2018.

2: Bath Christmas Market

Bath is a beautiful city to visit during any time of the year, steeped in history, culture and 2017 sees it holding is biggest Christmas Market to date.

There will be 200 wooden chalets selling everything from gifts, food and decorations. All held in the centre of the city centre.

You will also find a festive ice rink and glow in the dark mini golf which is bigger and better than ever this year with a fully licensed indoor bar and wood fired pizzas.

The Christmas Market runs from the 23rd November until the 10th December.

4: Warwick Victorian Christmas Evening

Taking place on the last Thursday of November, this fun-filled night is the perfect way to kick off the festive season! The festive evening starts at 5pm and ends at 9pm.

Throughout the town centre you will find everything from a traditional steam-powered carousel Victorian Ferris wheel, traction engines, ferret racing, fire spinners, children’s rides and entertainments, street entertainers, Victorian scallywags and not forgetting Santa’s Grotto.

Father Christmas will also be on hand to help the Mayor of Warwick switch on the lights to make it a memorable night out for the family.

You also find many stalls in the Victorian market offering the very best of festive foods and crafts.

6: Cardiff Christmas Market

The Christmas Market in Cardiff is spectacular and runs for 44 days during the run up to Christmas.

You will find over 200 exhibitors and 85 wooden stalls offering unique arts and crafts that make for exceptional gifts for your family, loved ones and friends.

Located in the heart of the pedestrian area of the city centre, you find people dressed as Christmas characters, music and entertainment for everyone. It has its own Winter Wonderland that has an undercover ice rink and you will Santa’s Grotto located in the fantastic Cardiff Castle.

Your also have a choice of traditional Welsh seasonal food and alcohol to sample during your time here. The Christmas Market is renowned as being one of the best in the UK and has established itself as a great place for the family to visit.

The Christmas Market runs from the 9th November until the 23rd December.

8: Edinburgh European Christmas Market

Well no list of Christmas Markets would be finalised without including the city of Edinburgh. The Christmas Market located in the heart of the city, just below the Mound, so it is the ideal place to visit on a city break to the Scottish capital.

The market offers everything you from arts and crafts to gift shops, as well as some wonderful and surprising foodie to buy and try.  Families can enjoy excellent views of the capital from the top of the Big Wheel, take a ride on the fantastic carousel in East Princes Street Gardens or brave a twirl on the 60-metre-high Star Flyer.

The younger members of the family will love visiting Santa Land, it’s Christmas fairground, their own Christmas market full of gifts and toys and visit Santa’s Grotto to meet the big man himself!

St Andrew Square will be hosting an oval ice rink, looping around the Melville Monument – hire a pair of skates and spin across the ice behind a gorgeous backdrop of the glittering city.

The Christmas Market runs from the 18th November until the 6th January.
